By Tube

Caledonian Road on Piccadilly Line (zone 2)

Turn left out the station and then take the first left up North Road. The theatre is then 100m up on your left.

By Bus 

We are well served by buses and several pass within easy walking distance of the theatre.

259 Kings Cross - Edmonton Green: nearest stop is outside Caledonian Road tube station - stop D (northbound) and A (southbound).

17 London Bridge - Archway: nearest stop is outside Caledonian Road tube station - stop D (northbound) and A (southbound).

91 Trafalgar Square - Crouch End: nearest stop is outside Caledonian Road tube station - stop D (northbound) and A (southbound).

274 Lancaster Gate - Angel, Islington: nearest stop is on Market Road - stop E (eastbound) and F (westbound).

153 Liverpool Street - Finsbury Park: nearest stop is on Westbourne Road - stop B (northbound) and C (southbound). Please note: this service stops approx. ten minute walk from the theatre, so plan your journey carefully if using the 153.

393 Clapton - Chalk Farm (via Stoke Newington and Highbury Corner): Stop right outside the theatre door!

N91 Trafalgar Square - Wood Green: nearest stop is outside Caledonian Road tube station - stop D (northbound) and A (southbound).

By Train

Caledonian Road & Barnsbury Richmond - North Woolwich Overground service: the theatre is a 10-15 minute walk north up Caledonian Road from the station, but bus Nos. 259, 17, 91 and N91 northbound all stop outside the station.

Kings Cross/St Pancras Mainline Intercity, International and local services: either take the Piccadilly Line northbound one stop to Caledonian Road station or bus Nos. 259, 17, 91 or N91 northbound outside Kings Cross station.

 

By Car 

Metered parking is available on North Road during office hours (£0.82 per 10 mins, or £4.95 per hour, max. stay 2 hrs; 9:30am-4:30pm) and free parking is available in the evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

The Pleasance Theatre Islington is outside the Congestion Charge Zone.

By Car 

Finding parking space in Edinburgh at the best of times can be a challenge, and this is never more evident than during the Festival. Public transport is recommended wherever possible, and Edinburgh City Council run a number of Park & Ride schemes servicing the City Centre.).

There are numerous car-parks around Edinburgh city centre - the most convenient for the Pleasance sites is the NCP St Johns Hill (Viewforth Gardens off Holyrood Road, EH8 9UQ) with 297 spaces including 4 disabled bays. Telephone 0845 050 7080.

By Bus

Both the Pleasance Courtyard and the Pleasance Dome are well served by local bus services. The following all run along Nicholson Street (Festival Theatre), from which both the Courtyard and Dome are a very short walk (please note that all services run via North Bridge):

3/3A Birkenside or Mayfield - Wester Hailes (via Princes Street)

5 Oxgangs - Brunstane, Asda (via Meadowbank)

By Train 

The Pleasance Courtyard and Pleasance Dome are both a short walk or taxi ride from Edinburgh's Waverley station.

Pleasance Dome - the Bristo Square bus stop on Lothian Street, a short distance to the front entrance (visible from the drop-off point)
